What is most valuable to you?

That’s a tough question which I’ll think about more and more these days. Of course my family is most precious and important to me. But my mind still is searching for a different answer to this question. So I did get involved with the feelings inside of me and noticed that I had only one part figured out. So what is the second part then? Something that is keeping me from enjoying the first one to the fullest. Let’s first talk about what value means for me and then we’ll have a look at the second part.

    First part: What is value?

Value can mean a lot of different things. Some might define it only with money, others consider the people around them to be valuable to them. Others again say their goals or values are most important to them… you get the point. For example: I would consider my coffee machine as very valuable to me. But value is a little bit weird. Of course my coffee machine has its value, but compare it to my family though and it has nothing in comparison. What does that tell us? That it’s not black and white, it’s depending on the perspective. Let me try to define it, so we can focus on the second part. Value is …

… something that influences you positively. The more positive impact it has on you – the greater the value.

Great, first part check! Then it’s time to look into the second one. There is a hidden part to most things which bring value to us. And it doesn’t matter if it’s family, money, cars or a coffee machine. Without the second part most things are still valuable, but some won’t be completed. So what could it be? I felt that I came really close to an answer. When I realized what it was, I felt … well kind of dumb to be honest, because it’s really obvious if you think about it.

    Second part: The missing piece

Have you ever heard something like “time has a value”? I am sure everyone heard of it by now. And that was the moment when I felt dumb. Of course I knew that time has a value. But I honestly didn’t underestimated how important it is and why so many people are stressing about it. And it was this moment, that led me to a new realization:

Time has value, but only when USED right!

Okay sure, that’s not new to me? That was my big realization? Well yes and no. We often focus so much on the first part ot the equation that we miss to consider in time correctly. And time has actually two roles: First, the time we need to get what (or where) we want. Second, the time we want to spend on it. We often only focus on the time it takes to get something or somewhere. But when we finally reach the point, what do we do? When we take family e.g.: Would it be enough to just “have” a family? No, you also need time to spent with them. And that’s when I realized: I considered the use of time completely wrong.

It’s the same for a car, house, game, etc. it’s not enough having it. We actually want to enjoy and embrace it – that’s the reason we got it in the first place. And it can already take a lot of time to get what you want. But if you have no time to spend on the things that are truly important to you, it can be very hard to be content. If you have time to spend on it:

It might changes into something magical. And I honestly believe that this is the true second part – at least it was for me.

    So here is my advise:

    1. Know what is valuable to you
    2. Find the time to get it
    3. Free up time to spend on / with it

Which hopefully empowers you to a enjoy a magical life full of wonder

    Have a great day!

Why did I start this blog?

I want to write down what’s on my mind, to give ideas and thoughts some room to evolve and be accessible to me and others. Another reason was, that I wanted to start a project. Something, which doesn’t require to much time and does not depend on other people. But to give me the option to learn something about myself and topics that interest me.

That’s why I ended up with a blog. I can write a blog post about any topic, when and where I want on basically everything. I don’t need to carry my big Laptop with me at all times and I am still able to note my ideas and come back to them later.

    What’s in it for you?

Hopefully, you find yourself some joy, entertainment and some ideas and inspiration to take with you and talk about or wrap your own mind about.

At the very least, you’ll find that all of us have thoughts, whatever they might be. There is nothing wrong in any of them, nor in challenging the ideas we have and try to live the life we are supposed to live: Our live, in our way.

    Why questions and not headlines?

One of the first questions was: How should I start? A very tough question to begin with. Currently I also want to get better in asking questions and maybe even in asking the right questions. That’s when I had the idea: Let’s just use the questions I have in mind in my blog instead of headlines or keywords – an easy way of writing for sure, since you basically answer the questions you give to yourself. On the other hand, it gives the reader a good understanding on my “why”. Why am I talking about this topic and not financial freedom or credit card debts and so on? When you know my question, you also know what problem I try to solve. And it challenges me to really think the question threw and what an answer could and should be. Additionally, it gives me the certainty to be honest with you and me, that I am really writing what’s bothering me and not what’s trending at the moment – since life doesn’t care about such thing, I believe that is the right approach for me as well

I like my relationships that way and I want to keep it this way with you, my reader as well.

One question you have to answer for yourself: Is this something you want?
If the answer is yes, then I am happy to welcome you to my blog.

I wish you, a very pleasant evening.
